Stuck on you
I’ve got this feeling down deep in my soul that I just can’t lose
Guess I’m on my way
Needed a friend
And the way I feel now I guess I’ll be with you ’til the end
Guess I’m on my way
Mighty glad you stayed
~Lionel Richie
You can shake an apple off an apple tree Shake, shake sugar But you'll never shake me Uh uh uh no sir-ree, uh, uh I'm gonna stick like glue Stick because I'm stuck on you ~ Elvis
I think everyone has had something (or someone) stuck in their head at one time or the other. It’s that brain worm that plays over and over and over…and then over again. It is a tune/melody or full song; it is a movie quote, line from a poem, or one great opening sentence. It is a woman’s fragrance, or the look in that persons’ eye, or the smile that lights up not only their face but the room as well.
This is what has been running through my mind for a full week+:
Don White / Christine Lavin / Ellen Bukstel / I Know What Love Is
This song reaches me on many levels. I have a daughter, grown now, and we are not as close now as I wish we were. Her choice, as it stands right now. I have to deal with it, but I do glom onto the memories of when it was different, and Daddy (me) was unconditionally loved. I wish we get it back one day. My son, on the other hand…while this song is directed at his daughter(s) and more, it works for me in dealing with my favorite son (inside joke). It hit me here too.
I also feel I’m starting to know what love is again, on a number of different levels, in a number of different ways. It feels good. I want this to grow and thrive.
I Know What Love Is can stay stuck in my head for a long time. It is most welcome. I can think of worse things.
What Thing Gets Stuck In YOUR Head?
(btw…this is the MOST personal I have ever been on this blog, and I hope you all appreciate that. Not what I normally strive for on this).

Oh ear worms we used to call them, (for tunes any way).
Great post! Let me see, hmm…I guess the last brain sticky I had was this song that went: ‘Good morning, good moooooorning. It’s such a lovely day.’
Now, while that’s nice and all, it sure got pretty frustrating when I was shutting my eyes at night.
Your daughter have children? Once they have children they appreciate us parents a heck of a lot better.

I did Stuart, I really did. Love IS real simple and true. Right on the mark and sweet video.
(Hugs you) Children give us gray hair honey, that’s for sure. Nothing we can do but love them through their skinned knees and bad decisions. Hang in there, you’re not alone.

Icky touchy feely stuff
)))))
This is a really moving song – in fact, I find it difficult to listen to.
As for earworms, the latest one was implanted by my new elementary classroom: “Days Of the Week”, sung to the tune of the Addams Family.
