Someone asks a question: “Who are you?”, or “What do you do?” and you label yourself by answering “I am…… (btw you can answer to multiple labels)
So…Who are you (and why are you following me?). Huh..that takes on a whole lot of different connotations from the joke, when you’re blogging.
I’ve been asked that question often, mainly the “What do you do?”, and it throws me for a loop. In the context of where I am, it could lead to one thing, another location I’m something else. I can say I’m a Creative Individual, but that doesn’t cover anything concrete, when someone wants a concrete answer. Before I examine that myself, take a look at my website (pretty please!) at BornStoryteller.

Hi! I found you through Jessica above and the Ultimate blog challenge This is an interesting post for me. I can say my blog is a personal blog or a poetry blog, but at the end of the day I don’t want to give it a label or to label myself. Like you, I am thrown through a loop. I am who I am but in terms of my blog, that attitude makes it hard to find a niche. I wonder do I need one?

Hi. I’m glad you found this. As to your question…no, I don’t think so. That was one of the reasons I put SO many items on the poll. I was hoping people would think: I’m SO many things. When we limit our thoughts to the one or two, we limit what we are capable of. Again, that’s my opinion.

I honestly don’t think much about labels. If someone asks me what I do, I generally answer with some version of “what do you mean?” Because I often don’t know if they mean profession, hobby, or what I’m doing at that particular moment (e.g. folding my paper napkin into an origami shape). Which always throws THEM for a loop, and gets me the additional labels of socially awkward and weird 🙂
